Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park
On the South African side we spend 2 nights at Twee Rivieren and 2 nights at Mata Mata. Next we crossed into the Botswana side where there are no fences arround the campsites. We slept at Motopi, Lesholoago and Mpayathutlwa. At Mpaya we had our closest encouter with a lion ever when early morning he came by for a drink.
Khutse & Central Kalahari
In Khutse we camped at Molose and Moreswe. In the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR) we stayed at Xaka, Piper Pan, Sunday Pan, Motopi and Letiahau. If you're interested in what it's like to cross all of the CKGR read this.
Makgadikgadi & Scienic Flight (Maun)
After we left the CKGR we spent the night at Tiaan's Camp, Khumaga. The next morning we crossed the Boteti River on the small ferry and entered Makgadikgadi. Here we camped for two days, looking for the lion cubs we had seen here last year.
Moremi
Our stops include Magotho, South Gate, Xakanaxa, North Gate. We had amazing encouters with wild dogs, leopard and lion.
Savuti and Muchenje
From North Gate in Moremi we drove to Savuti. We spent the night at campsite Paradise. We saw lots of elephants, African Buffalo, lions with cubs and a leopard. Next we took the scienic route to Muchenje.
Chobe and Senyati Camp in Kasane
His 50th birthday we spent in Chobe. Camped at Ihaha 01, our favorite. Next day so much rain the park submerged and our car stopped in the middle. In Kasane we got the car fixed and got the Golden Tip to check out Lesoma Valley. This turned out the be just arround the corner of Senyati Campsite with it's underground bunker hide.
Hwange, St. Painted Dog, Zimbabwe
After the most relexed border crossing ever at Pandamatenga it was a little drive to Hwange. We toured the park for a few days staying at Sinamatella, Masuma Dam and Deteema Dam. We visited the Painted Dog Conservation and ofcourse went with them looking for African Wild Dogs in Hwange.
Nata Lodge & Limpopo Limpadi NP Botswana
From Hwange we took the border crossing at Pandamatenga back into Botswana. A stopover at Nata Logde. The next day we drove down to Limpopo River Lodge Campsite in Limpopo Limpadi National Park.
